Description

Balance formulas of hp rec/mp rec/sp rec and diminishing returns of PA and MA

Explanation

The Metagame consists of swapping equipment to fill your life at the time of regeneration, and have the rest of the time an equipment with maximum caps. It creates very long Pvps and makes it impossible to put new content.

Current Formulas

Reg HP = 100 to 200 (with 200 Vit) every 15 sec

With Medium Gear +400% = 400 to 800, Full HP every ~1.5 ticks (~22 sec)

Reg MP= 60 to 200 (with 200 Mag) every 12 sec

With Medium Gear +400% = 240 to 800, Full MP every ~2.5 ticks (~30sec)

PA= Linear for each part of the armor

Ma=Increases with all pieces with diminishing returns

Example of Changes

HP Reg = 20 to 30 (with 200 Vit) every 5 sec

With Medium Gear +400% = 90 to 120, Full HP every ~8 ticks

(~40sec)

Reg MP= 30 to 40 (with 200 Mag) every 4 sec

With Medium Gear +400% = 120 to 160, MP Full every ~6 ticks (~24sec)

PA= Drastically decreasing performance from 60% for each part of the armor.

Ma=Increases with all pieces with a drastic diminishing return from 60%.

Conclusions

-It would completely change the combat and the metagame by not being able to trade just for the tick.

-More objects could be implemented that were the new meta without removing the current enchanting, nor taking away from the players all the effort they invested in the items, avoiding retouching each particular item.

-The necessary changes are in the general formulas so it would be faster to implement and would require less time than other balancing options.

-It could be the base that allows to implement new content.

-The support, review and dedication of the community on this idea could prolong the gaming and pvp experience.

Im not against a change in general, however, currently the burst dmg is already wayyyy too high and it would completely fuck this over even more - especially mages.

At best I would be in for the cap on PA/MA diminishing return change

What about dr and mr?

Carrying three sets of gear in your inventory just to swap on ticks is metagame crap, completely in favor. Have you also thought about the hit ratio?

These are just the basics of the balance, I would like to see what the community thinks to go into more detail. The idea is to tweak hitting formulas lightly, and just let new content increase hitting and defenses more evenly. I'm going to open another topic just for the hit ratio.

It's quite the opposite, the new metagame forces you to choose; Either you heal or reduce the damage, either way the burst damage has a better path than the current one, when you heal you don't reduce much damage so you will die sooner rather than later, and if you have reduction equipment you don't heal almost anything. infinite pvp is over.

I agree with the HP regen changes but not with the PA/MA changes, Can't vote yes or no :p

You could create one topic for each change so ppl could vote better.

imo just changing how HP/MP regen works would be enough for PA/MA sets not being used so often.

the change in pa/ma is more important without it it is impossible to implement anything new in that sense, all games have to review their damage reduction formulas. Wow for example scale by level here I think that it is not possible but that a change in the formula is needed is sure

You would need to be in HP/MP set for a lot more time than now, so that means less time using PA/MA set, don't think the nerf for these are needed as they will be nerfed already with the HP formula changes.
